A CORNISH GEM

St Ives

Many regard St Ives as the 'gem' of Cornwall and the most picturesque of resorts. With its combination of unique and magnificent coastal views to the town's narrow streets, which wind their way between quaint fishermen's cottages, numerous bars, restaurants, cafes, museums, galleries and the Tate.

Not many resorts can rival St Ives for both the number and quality of beaches. There are no less than five beautiful golden sandy beaches within easy walking distance of St Ives town centre.

The turquoise waters of St Ives Bay are some of the cleanest in Europe, with the beaches regularly receiving the coveted Blue Flag awards. Also we have such a variety, from family beaches at Porthminster and Porthgwidden with sheltered bathing and rock pools, to the famous Porthmeor surfing beach below us.

St Ives Festivals...

St Ives hosts a vast array of galleries and events throughout the year. Every year the town holds a wide spectrum of festivals that include food, New Year, litreature, arts and the infamous St Ives September Festival, which attracts artists and visitors alike, from around the globe.

Places to visit...

From the Tate, on the shore of Porthmeor Beach just below us to the numerous small, private galleries, there is plenty to see and do, here in St Ives. With a quartet of golden, sandy beaches, leisurely coastal walks and boat trips to Seal Island.

Further afield but an easy day trip from St Ives is: St Michael's Mount, near Marazion; Land's End; the Minnack Theatre, Porthcurno, near Penzance, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, near St Austell and its neighbour the famous Eden Project.
